Of course everyones' ideas of perfect exposure vary. Actually this is very very near to what it did look like at the time - it's a crop and if you saw the whole pic I think you would agree .

I don't often do much cropping - but one suggestion from yesterday's lesson was when and how to .

of 85 I took today - the morning was difficult - light and rain affected stuff - even Photomonk was struggling with a 1.8 lens so what chance had I !

The afternoon was different - and I learned a lot

Smeggy - the horses really do enjoy this - honest they do . If they didn't they would never start

I hope the pics have been offered to the rider

That's a fantastic set of 'unauthorised dismount' photos - well done !

I say that as someone who has stood at many obstacles for both ridden and driven trials , and I know it's not easy to get a set like that. I'm not being patronising , I never had a camera that could have done that - first a Kodak P&S then I was graciously permitted to use my husband's Fuji Bridge.

That should really be a great sequence thanks . Somewhere I have some pics my husband took of a similar sort of 'jump' - the rider was mortified when she saw them as she was standing on her head so-to-speak mid air

Somehow I always got better shots than he did - I got the knack of 'following' using his Fuji Bridge Camera better than he did

David - these are magnificent - but please for those like me who really do not like bugs - could you post a mental health warning with them ?

I really ain't got the patience to try anything like these

The ones that keep catching my attention are #4 and #6

Really fabulous shots - well spotted

I really wish I could take stuff like that - but it's way beyond me

I'd love to see a shot taken 2 secs after #3

That was really a lucky shot - you could not possibly have anticipated that one

It is - and it's cleaning up well again - thanks to the fact that the tramway is now up and running - though long delayed and I understand much abbreviated.

There are some lovely unspoilt corners there - one of these days I'll be fit to go for a good wander and indulge in a few more.

I enjoy the old architecture - and the way you can get a wee glimpse of the new style too
