My film SLR's were Nikon, and then I went Digital, with point and shoot cameras. I sold the Nikon. But then I was in a position to buy some cheap MZ 60's with lenses. I accumulated a number of lenses, then when I went to Digital SLR, I stuck with Pentax, because I had so many lenses. Incidentally I sold the KM and purchased a new K20D. I am quite happy with Pentax, however if they go out of business, I am not looking forward to building up a new stock of lenses. Particularly so in the I have three 100-300 zooms, which translate to 450mm. I use them for surfing photos.
I have never had to look at it closely yet but I assume that the new digital lenses of say 100-300 are actually 100-300. I shudder to think what are the costs of a new Nikon or Canon zoom which goes to 450mm, woul be.
KR, Pentax 55-300 DAL, Pentax DA 17-55, Pentax 35-80, Generic grip, Generic remote, Nissin Flash. HISTORY - MZ 50, MZ 60, *istDS, KM, K20D, Nikon F60, Nikon F90. Large assortment of Point and shoot film and Digital, Sigma 70-300 APO DG, Samyang 500mm mirror lens, Sigma lenses of all assortments. K20D now sold. Sad to see it go, but makes room for an eventual upgrade to the K5 or the K4?
