I am sure there are still many happy satisfied Canon 40d and Nikon D80 users about, its so easy to be sucked into "needing" the latest model which is why you see a fair few 'downgrading' for sale ads on the web.. no point buying a Ferrari to just nip into town once a week.

ISO, af speed/accuracy and fps are important to me as a main camera so a K5II was the obvious choice and was looking at a K7 as a back up but went for the K30 instead.

I would imagine in some situations no camera would outshine the other

Last bump for ths k30 and lens, no more price drops, I do want to downsize my back up k30 to a Q but cannot bare the thought of losing any more money on it.

mmm not sure I agree with that, dropping the mp from its highest will give a longer(and more consistent)burst rate because the buffer empties quicker.. I have read debates on it handling low light noise better too although I am not convinced by this and have never noticed it in the real world like I have with the 1st point.
