Having done a rough calculation, the K-3 deals @ $996.95 (approx. £600), the total cost including shipping, import tax, and VAT would come to around £1400, as hmrc would apply a levy on the freebies, as there is also a value to them ($600/£400). In short, the charges would be based on a total value of $1596.95, with the charges based upon my rough estimates indicated in my first post on this thread.

Not quite the bargain it appears, when you factor in the shipping fees to UK (by courier, expect to pay around £50), admin fee for customs clearance (average fee is around the £20 mark), VAT @ 20% on total value of the goods, and import tax (camera body is duty-exempt, although you will have to pay import duty on the lens, memory card, and bag (if you are looking at the K-50 deal). Expect to pay something in the order of 4-9% of the value of the goods. Personally, I'd stick to a UK dealership, such as SRS.

As I understand the terms described above, it seems that Yahoo! want to use the images primarily to promote their own range of "products". The bit that concerns me is the part relating to "third-party services". Does this mean that (as an example) Yahoo! are then free to sell on our images to Microsoft Bing Weather (or whatever it's called) for financial gain? If so, surely this could be construed as "copyright theft" via the back door?..

Great, thanks for the quick replies.

I did see that it says "now accepting paypal", but it does say elsewhere on the site that paypal is only accepted for non uk orders only.

Just wanted to be sure.
Give Chris @ SRS a phonecall... I think you won't be disappointed.

Import duty on lenses shouldn't be as much as 20% of the invoice value. I think the figure should be around 7-9%. Camera bodies are duty-exempt.

If you have received a pro-forma invoice for the import charges, can you let me know what Tariff Number (BTN) was used (this is typically a 9 to 12 digit long number), and the CPC code (Customs Procedure Code) used. The CPC is most critical, as it tells HMRC the reason for the import.

Using the HMRC Chapter Heading for Lenses - Other - Other, the HMRC website indicates that the import rate on lenses (as a general rule of thumb) is 6.7%. link

Note that CAMERA BODIES are duty-exempt, although the importer will be liable for VAT and an import brokerage fee (check with the courier company). If arriving in the UK via Royal Mail (as handling agents for overseas postal services), check how much RM will levy as their fee beforehand.

The answer is obviously the orange. One of the apples is (if I'm correct) a Mackintosh Red - therefor it represents an Apple Mac. The apple with your fingerprints on it must be an iPod Touch. Orange is a mobile phone company, not a computer company!!
