Great to get a picture of a Bittern - they are so shy! Likewise the Snipe.

And I am looking at your pictures of the Kingfisher with interest - I see you have more on Flickr. Very nice. Having a similar set up, it is really useful to see your camera settings.

Thanks for posting.
Glad I could be of help

Is this where you get garbled, streaky images. They look fine when viewed on the back of the camera but once downloaded the weirdness happens.
I think I know what you are talking about, I have seen something like this before on a very few occasions however that was before the upgrade. I haven't seen it since but the occasions it appears I haven't recreated. I see it mostly when doing multiple burst shots at the kart track particularly. It is a very rare occurrence.

I took a quick spin out to Forest Farm this morning to try out Kenko's 1.4x & 2x TCs on my (shock horror) Nikon d300 with Sigma 100-300 f4 (don't worry I haven't deserted Pentax and probably never will). Met up with an old friend who let me borrow his TCs but while we were there we had a visit from a bittern. I managed a couple of shots before it disappeared into the reeds, started off at 1/5th before I noticed my ISO was low so cranked it up to 800 ISO and got a bit better shutter speed but the bitter had skulked off by then.
The shots were taken on my K3 with the beast (150-450) attached.

The grammar on these should tell you immediately that it's total b0ll0x.
Do not click on any of the links that are suggested because sure as eggs is eggs you'll launch malware/viruses etc.

You have to ask, there are plenty of them in various mounts on eBay and a huge number have no hood, I've recently bought two, neither are Pentax sadly, the asking price for the Pentax version is ridiculous! So I bought a camera and lens for the price the Pentax version goes for!

As the title says, I'm looking for the lens hood for the DG version of this lens if anyone has one surplus to requirements. The old EX version might fit so if you have one of those I'm still interested.

It doesn't get a good write up in any reviews. Not a patch on the 24-70 f2.8 apparently.

Always use Sandisk, never had an issue, use the camera almost every day, put over 100,000 shots on my old K-7 in 3 years prior to retiring it, never a hitch. The only time I've had a problem was when I loaned a card to someone and it came back with one of the plastic bits between the contacts snapped off and a piece off the corner. Still works though
No issues since with either my K-5iis of K-3

Cheers guys. It was meant to be a visit to a different waterfall than the one shot but with the low cloud I had a change of heart.
