And over 400,000 ISO

Unfortunately, although you are correct in what you are saying Smeggy, the average Joe will see a Canikon with gazzillions of megapixels on the shelf alongside a Pentax with a modest but ample 12 or 16 MP and he's going to buy the Canikon. It would be commercial suicide, sadly, for Pentax to persue that path and a shot in the foot. Pentax need sales and that route is not going to get them I'm afraid.

You could get a set of step up/down rings and they can double as a hood.

I have the DA*50-135 and find it an awesome lens. It has a certain something that sets it apart, some people term it as pixie dust, whatever Pentax do to that lens, I don't know, but it is special. I have the DA*16-50 too and I have had a love hate relationship with it, but it's still with me, why? I think it is the way the pictures look, even though they may not be perfect there is something about them that stops me selling the lens.

Wrap it in a shed load of those silica crystal bags all confined in a sealed plastic bag. The silica will draw out any moisture, don't put it on a rad, this will make the moisture condense into water droplets and screw the lens.
I know, I did it to a DA*50-135
It was insured though
