I have the same two lenses as the Doc plus the 16-50 and 55 all of them are superb, I use the 50-135 for karting and sold a Sigma 70-200 because the image quality of the Pentax meant I never used the Sigma even though it has the better (faster) focusing system. I don't think I will ever get rid of my stars.
The 300 is simply epic too

You want to cram as much RAM in it as you can afford, and I'd use an SSD hard drive in the laptop for speed and put your catalogues on an external disk with all you photos.

I use my 50-135 every month at the kart track and rattle off in excess of a 1500-2000 photos each time, all using the SDM to focus.

Last month I took 2,491 photos of which circa 2000 were on my K-3 with the 50-135. Not a hitch.

55-300 is awesome (for the money) and blows the Tamron & Sigma 70-300's out of the water. If you are serious about the upgrade don't waste any money on the 70-300's they are OK at best and then only in good light.
Crossed-up has a 55-300 for very reasonable money in the classifieds.
