Thanks everyone, I am going to invest in an Arctic Butterfly very soon. And as for the dust spots inside the lens, for now I will have to clone them out. But I do have an old Auto Chinon 50mm f1.9 that I may practice stripping down and if I am successful I may have a go at the SMC A 50mm.
Again thanks everyone for the help and advice.

Likewise Gareth, the evening's fayre wasn't the best but it does help by planting ideas of different ways to photograph ordinary objects when you see someone else's work.
A couple of weeks back we had this guy at the club and it was just a wow evening.

Now that was worth turning up for. See you soon

John Riley was correct too: on much closer inspection it appears there are some marks on the inside of the SMC 50mm, how on earth do I get rid of them!

Someone needs to develop a dust catcher that sits near your sensor catching any stray particles that wander by, a bit like a piece of fly paper. Or a piece of statically charged something or other. Oh what a utopia that would be.

I like the sound of that last one Algi, ... have you tried it yourself?

An update for everyone I have blown and brushed, blown some more and brushed again and again, then blown again and again and finally come up with this. Taken at f22 of white paper (Thanks Pentaxian)

Is it safe to use the compressed air in a can stuff that I use inside PCs? Is it likely to cause damage?

I've got a hurricane blower but it doesn't seem to make any difference and as stated earlier "the blower puts bits into all kinds of wierd places" my viewfinder is heavily spotted too. I think I will try madame butterfly. Anyone have any ideas on how to get the dust out of the viewfinder?

Found it on SRS £44.95 cheers for your help guys... although I'm still wondering why the dust alert still says my sensor is clean?

"Arctic butterfly?" you'll have to excuse my ignorance I've only recently crossed over from a bridge camera so my next question is why does it not appear on the dust alert (Dust.jpg) picture earlier?

Confused
