Hi Guys, it’s with a heavy heart i have to tell you i have sold most of my Pentax kit & defected to Sony. I must say, i have no regrets being with Pentax for nearly two years & i have taken some of the best photos i have ever taken. Since my K-3ii had been playing up i was faced with either replacing it or as i was liking the Sony A7 range, getting one of those. I hung on pinning all hopes on the fact the k-3ii replacement might be unveiled at the Photokina show, but nothing. With the range of longer focal length lenses being sparse, & Pentax seemingly not moving on, i opted for the route i have. I just want to thank everyone on this forum for being so helpful & nice,i have learned allot from here, & i putting that alongside my past experience when i was a Canon man, the Pentax users are far more willing to help, & are a much nicer bunch to be associated with.
I have some kit i will put up for sale soon. Which is a 2x teleplus mc4 converter, a vivitar 90mm macro & matched 1:1 converter, a brand new aftermarket cordless remote release, a corded remote release, an as new Clubman 28mm f2.8, my macro extention tubes - 2x 31mm 2x 21mm & 2x 13mm.
All the best

Steve

Photokina 2018 is just around the corner, everything crossed they showcase the K3-iii ( or whatever they call it ) 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
My K3-ii has started playing up, randomly locking up, black screen, no live view, no playback nothing. But oddly it still operates the shutter & takes a black photo. So if no news i’ll be gutted. At the value of the body i will probably just bin it & get another as a quick fix.
Must admit mirrorless looks a tempting road to go down eventually.

My K3ii tracks fast jets brilliantly ( as i have set it up) but won’t track prop planes on the same settings. But the settings to alter it are to deep in the menus to bother with! 😢
Now that is a tantalising flag for instructions on how this is done please..
Please don’t read my post as “ it will nail every shot on every pass”.
I have spent much time chopping settings about, missing shots & getting very frustrated & sometimes irrate.
What i have come up with is some settings that i couple with a technique that will reliably get me good sharp photos 8 times out of ten. I will have a look at the altered settings & post up.

I'm not interested in touch screens, wifi, bluetooth, phone connection or any other silly gimmicks, just DECENT AUTOFOCUS TRACKING!!
When are they ever going to sort this problem out? ALL the others can do it, when is Pentax/Ricoh going to wake up?
The autofocus tracking on my K3ii (supposedly an improvement) is totally useless!...as it was on the K5, K7, KX K10 and no doubt every other model.

I have just bought a Clubman 28mm f2.8 macro & it’s absolutely mint, i would think never used!!
I wanted a lens i can just wack on and go for Lightning & light painting photography & for less than £20 why would i spend any more than that!!
Image IQ seems decent enough,so i’m going to take it to Bournemouth this weekend to see what it will do for me.
All hail old lenses, if you haven’t got one, you’re missing out!

Hi peeps, I just can't work out how to embed the GPS data when i upload my photos from camera to iPhoto.
This is the only problem i can't master since my Canon - Pentax swap. I kind of thought it would automatically record it in the EXIF data.
So to sum up, i have the GPS calibrated, and turned on all the time. I physically put my SD card into the iMac and the photos automatically upload to iPhoto. I'm soon getting an Eye-fi card so this will change.

Thank you in advance

Stephen

A bit TOO LATE - I posted that in July 2016!

Thought about doing the same sort of thing for this year - but I never got any sort of response on PU, or even on the Fighter Control forum where I thought there might be a good response but there was "zilch" even after I mentioned it in relation to specific dates where I had bought tickets but could not go or where I had a spare ticket when my wife could not come (even for a Duxford show!).

Therefore not really considering doing the same this year.
Thats what people can be like sadly.
Well i may be going this year as the Air Tattoo is not all it's cracked up to be, and i've never been to Duxford, so nearer the time if you are thinking of going, give me a shout!

It should be brought back with a better version that works. People are more trusting and it would be fun

This was a nice idea that never really took off. I think many people at the time were reluctant to show their locations.
