Thanks for all the input guys.
Well to sum things up a little, i'm going to wait a while before i get the K1, at the moment i'm probably going to get a k3ii with either a 300 f2.8 prime (sigma) , or the 150-450 pentax as my jet/wildlife lens.
I'm holding off on the K1 primarily because of the price ( it's allot of money for where i am with my budget right now), and the fact that if i get on with the system then a year or so down the road i'm sure Pentax will be releasing a whole load of new stuff, and maybe by then a K1 ii or something.
I managed to get to play with a K3 today, and it wasn't the experience i was expecting. As said in previous posts, it fitted well in the hand, the build was solid (i like the weather proofing ) , and the layout not too uncommon. The focusing wasn't anywhere near as dire as i had dreaded, in fact i would say it was similar to a Canon 40D.
So now to save for a while, and i will let you know how i'm getting on.
Thanks for all your inputs, you've been a great help !

Hi all, and thanks for all your input. I am in a position where i had to sell my camera gear to pay the solicitors costs for buying a house, thats how come i am in the position i am in.
I really love the Eos system, it's what i started out with about ten years ago. I think originally i chose Canon because everyone else had it. These days i feel i have been there, done that, had flash lenses and camera bodies and i just feel like i have an opportunity to " see what else is out there".
I must say i like the vibrance the Pentax photos render, and the detail is brilliant , but i have a few unresolved doubts about the focusing system. If only Pentax put more efforts into developing it more, i'm sure droves of people would move over without hesitation.

Hello everyone, i am looking for some advice from people who have used the Canon Eos system and moved over to Pentax.
I have just had to sell my Eos setup, i had a 5D mark iii, and now i'm not tied to a system i'm thinking the K1 looks a nice piece of kit, maybe for Christmas. So i am asking Eos users or ex-Eos users how they get on with the Pentax system in comparison.
My photography consists of many aspects. I love macro,i also shoot jets at low level in Wales. I also like light painting , wildlife/zoo photography, & have done a couple of weddings.
I love full frame and the extra dynamic range it offers.
One of my main concerns is the focusing speed & tracking of the Pentax system & if it's up to the job of tracking the jets. 4fps doesn't bother me.
If the are any Pentax users that do the jet thing, or shoot fast paced stuff like motorsports then please have your say.
Thanks in advance . Stephen
