I used mine on a vanilla K5. I found the autofocus could be inconsistent, but I was using it mostly in very low light and in Tungsten light, which are not the K5's strengths. Sharpness was good, especially from 2.2 down. I still have it, but not used it in anger for a long time as I mostly shoot with a K1 now. Probably out to get rid of a numbr of my APS-C only lenses as even the K3 gets little use these days! The 18-35 is quite a large lens, but the range was useful

Anyone seen a white van with a sticker on it saying "No toilet rolls are left in this van overnight"?

Or is it an urban myth?

Well I have the DA*300 and the 60-250. The DA* is sharper and quicker to focus, but the IQ from the 60-250 is not bad at all and it is perfecty useable wide pen. I actually use the zoom on a K1 in FF mode, I have not removed the internal baffle so there is always abit of vignetting, but as I tend to crop to 7:5 ratio it is not a major issue. Focussing is a little slow on the 60-250 though

+1 from me! So well timed.

I had lacklustre comments on various fora for the original of this picture. I decided to give it a makeover and try again in b+w

Am I wasting my time or is there something here ? Please be honest.

Two crops spring to mind- a landscape one cutting out the water, as others have said the light patch distracts, and there is no reflection. The hosta/gunnera to the right of the bridge are quite interesting, so a wide but low crop might be good. Also a portrait crop of the bridge and the climber net to it would look nice, would be quite a heave crop though. Plus maybe lift the highlights a bit, they look a little muddy on my screen. Definitely something in there though...

You did well, these LBJ's re not easy to see! I'm trying to resist a super long zoom for my K1/K3 but you're not maing it easy!

Reading this made me realise I'd been on here for over 9 years.

I've bought and sold quite a bit.
I've contributed on gear BUT less lately as I'm not interested in heavy K1 and its big expensive heavy fast FA lenses.
I've posted about the K3II replacement recently and frankly won't bother again. I'm clearly in a minority caring that there is no current flagship APS-C camera.
I put a few pics on the gallery, mostly of wildlife while walking the dog.

As to time marching on I've had cataract surgery to both eyes and complications for two years. I've battled on taking photos and am finally getting there after a belated YAG Laser capsulotomy to clear my left eye and a lot of drops and gels for dry eyes. I can for example now read this.

My camera works a lot better than I do. I'd like to think that at least it is good for one more quality Pentax DSLR upgrade. A lightweight 400mm zoom would be nice to improve on the excellent 55 - 300 PLM. I reckon min £3,000 to switch systems. Beyond our budget eh wife?
Not sure its that we don't care about the wait for a new "flagship" aps-c camera, just that we have got used to the slowness of Ricoh product releases. This weekend, I'm off to a wedding and to save weight I'm going to get my K3 out rather than my K1. The Sigma 50-150 f2.8 is a lot lighter than my Tamron 70-200

As for hiatus, I took 6 months off from another Pentax related forum just to get a breath of fresh air, I was still taking photos though.
