Thanks for the advice cabstar Unfortunately, The left hand side was far to busy with people to get shots from. I was stood behind the wheelchair section, which at least gave me some clear space to the stage.

Pretty unavoidable when stood in the crowd.

Not in the same league as cabstar's shots, but I had a good time, and reckon I did a better job than most of the people waving mobile phones all over the place.
Things I learnt:
1. People get in the way a lot.
2. Stage equipment/mics get in the way a lot.
3. Lighting can be all over the show.

All shot with 55-300mm wide open mostly at 300mm. In hindsight, I may have been better off taking my 70-200mm f/2.8

I know what you mean! So many cars and people make it hard to avoid clutter.

My car club were exhibiting at the French Car show last Weekend, which gave me a good opportunity to try some creative shots. I know the effects, processing will not be everyone's cup of tea, but a fun car needs some fun shots

I am a member of at least 12 different forums, and pay for membership on 3 of them. This one, one for my car club and one for my dog breed. Both of the other paid forums have a private members chat/lounge for general chat, and an off topic forum for everyone. I think pretty much all the other forums have an off topic forum too. My car club forum also has a shoutbox(live chat) at the top of the forum where anything goes and is great fun.

So what are the reasons for not having an off topic forum please?

Can't be bandwidth/server costs, as money coming in from subs.
I can't see anyone being against an off topic forum.
It would solve the problem we currently face, as Louise's thread could have just been moved to "Off Topic"

Like others have said, I come here for the community above all else, and the voice of the community needs to be listened to for the forum to thrive.

Apps I use:

UK Tides - For beach shots
DSLR Remote - Needs a phone with IR blaster, but much better range than separate remotes.
PHOforPHO - Lots of useful tools in one app
DOF Calculator - Does what it says on the tin.
Sun Surveyor - does everything that TPE does but with added features, the best of which is an Augmented Reality view, that shows you the Sun path superimposed on the phone camera view when held up to the sky.

Great stuff! Although I am biased, being a Labrador owner.

I like number 1 but ease up on the sharpening in Lightroom, as it has created a halo around the edge of the tunnel.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Agility in the South does have it's own pro tog(Nikon D300s) who captured the dog in pic 1 at almost exactly the same time as me here, if you can see through the watermark!
