Dog Agility

About time I posted some pics, so here are some from a dog agility competition I attended. Trickier to get good shots than I thought, as there were lots of people, dogs and background objects getting in the way. Also, all the arenas were quite compact, and full of agility jumps etc, so very hard to get clean shots and good focus.
All taken with K-3 and Tamron 70-200 f2.8, mostly wide open, and all quite heavily cropped.

I'm a dog lover, so love these whatever

Some C&C .....

First pic IMO needs the black areas of the doggies face lightening slightly.

Overall on the action shots I'd shoot a bit wider giving you room to crop and rotate where necessary to avoid the edges of the frame being distracting.

Thanks for that Smeggy

Here is the first shot, with a tighter crop to remove the jump upright, and straightened in line with the jump bar. Also the face slightly lightened.

Last shot is my favourite all of them are well captured, nicely in focus. The reworked shot above is better but the dog still needs more space around him/her especially off to the right where it's looking. I know you don't have a lot to play with in that direction though.

Some nice shots in there, it's amazing how quick some of the agility dogs are. I think no 3 really shows off the movement in the hair and no 6 shows off the collie concentration to a tee.

These are tremendously good, great focussing on the eyes makes them come to life

Much better. Although I would left a bit of breathing room above the ear

Thanks for the feedback guys. Agility in the South does have it's own pro tog(Nikon D300s) who captured the dog in pic 1 at almost exactly the same time as me here, if you can see through the watermark!
