Quite a lot of cloud cover, but meant I could have a go with ND's.

Not great, but better than nothing.

Some guides have said that a 10 stop ND should be good enough to get some good shots, using 100 iso, f/8 and fastest shutter speed as a starting point. Does this sound about right?

Very interesting. Full frame and *. I already have the Tamron version which I am very happy with, but will be looking forward to seeing how this new lens compares.

You say the buttons / wheels have a good action. How do they compare to the buttons and wheels on the k3 itself? Are they similar?

Id love to see some pics of its attached if youve got some?

Ive never had a grip and would like to give one a go.
Hi, sorry for the delay, been busy recently.

The buttons feel as good as the ones on the body, perhaps a slightly more audible click when pressed is the only difference. The wheels don't have that rubbery feel as on the body, but do have a positive action.

Pictures below. New 3rd party K-3 grip on the left, 3rd party K-5 grip on the right.

Having played with my 3rd party K-3 grip for a couple of days now, I can confirm that in the menu you can select which battery to use first(Auto, body, grip) and it will switch when one is depleted. You might only fit one battery in the grip, but there is a holder at the end of the battery tray to keep a spare SD card Cannot tell if mine has gaskets around the buttons, but it does not have any in the battery tray. I would be very surprised if my Kingma branded one is any different from the DSTE one, as they both appeared for sale within days of each other.
