How very interesting the 30-50's would, I had thought had less time to indulge their hobby.

What with the under 30's partying & the seniors being so busy being retired How does that figure?

For me the hobby helps to relieve stress. So maybe the 30-50's are all very stressed.......

I'm in the too busy to party, too tired to be retired category & too stressed to not have a hobby.

I'm was having difficulty answering this poll. I love to break the rules & shoot insects without macro (Prime), portraits telephoto-zoom, Landscapes (probably more wide-zoom then other),All sorts Zoom. Experimenting helps me develop as you can't always have the right lens on the body & I only have three lenses in any case. Necessity being the mother of invention (or in this case, creativity, I hope).
Interesting question through.

I'm sure there is a valid reason that we are unaware of.

I also agree with Hyram, Hipperty deserves a special mention in despatches.

Hipperty made me smile, I love the entry.

Hmmm.... glad I took the trouble to enter. Not!

Still I guess this must happen sometime. Feedback might have been helpful though.

Maybe there is a genuine reason for the delays & lack of feed back but it does disappoint somewhat.

For what it is worth, Lilly's entry has my vote.

Well bodyheat, I tend to pack my camera bag in my suitcase along with my tripod then carry my camera kit in my hand luggage. I use a normal small hand luggage case & wrap lenses etc. in cardigans or any other small clothing items. Once through passport control etc. you can always take the camera out again. I always think that carrying a bag that looks like it has over £1K of photo stuff & a lap top in it is just asking for trouble. I wouldn't bother with a special bag but that's just my opinion.

That's a fair point John. Perhaps it just demonstrates how difficult it is to produce a one size fits all piece of kit.

LOL or should I say you made me laugh?
You're right of coarse.

But seriously the shape of the person must make a difference in any case. What if a person is large or small? The sling shot wouldn't suit a very large person as the straps aren't too long. But on the other hand doesn't a shoulder bag place the weight all on one side?

I guess one consideration is if your not willing to take the camera out in the rain & get it wet then why buy a water proof camera bag. Any water proof bag would do. When I use my sling shot I've often got the camera around my neck too, unless we are climbing.

It still has too many features doesn't it? All those pre-defined modes?
Or have I got it wrong? I like to tell the camera what to do not have it try to teach me some formulaic idyll.

I know it has less buttons but I would miss the info panel on the top.

Mind you it looks like it would fit in the handbag

It just occurred to me that the shape (sex) of the photographer probably has an influence on the type of kit bag. The slingshot isn't a shoulder bag if used properly. I find that the strap sits comfortably across my front as it sits diagonally where as a backpack has straps that squash things, if you know what I mean. I like the slingshot because you carry your stuff to the back of you but can sling it around to the front for easy opening when needed. Carrying that much weight in a shoulder bag would bang against my hips & be uncomfortable. Why not pop into a shop & ask to try a few out to see which you prefer?
