I prefer number two - visually speaking, it's a lot more fresh, and generally I much prefer websites where scrolling is kept to a minimum. Of course the look and feel is important (especially where photography is concerned) but you also need to think about usability; even if a website looks great and has good images on offer, if it's a pain to navigate, the actual content of your website will be overshadowed. I guess you're going with a ready-made template, so I would suggest basing your decision on things like page speed, structure, layout etc - this article has some good pointers so might be worth a read.
