Having just bought into the Lee filter system I'm selling my screw-in B+W 67mm 10 stop ND Filter.

It's only been used a couple of times so is in as new condition

Asking price is £50 including postage

In fact taking a shot with a wider lens, thus allowing for some leeway in the Post Pro stage actually gives you more room to to think about the composition and crop accordingly. but anyway if people want to self flagellate and feel that helps them then I'm not going to dissuade them.

Think I'll head for cover

That's useful to know - thanks Simon. Will you be using the system with any of your other lenses (esp. 12-24)? If so, would be good to hear about any other vignetting issues.

Look forward to seeing the results of your investment
Hi Tim,

I plan to use it will all my wider lenses so have ordered WA adaptors for the 12-24 and the DA15mm I've just received today

I happen to believe that they encourage better composition - by making it less easy, and forcing the photographer to think more. This view is disputed in certain quarters, but those quarters may safely be ignored.

I'm hoping this is true as I've just bought the DA15mm for this very reason, just received it and initial impressions are very positive.

I think it's useful to probably have a combination of both primes and zooms as both offer distinct benefits in different situations

As a matter of interest, what filters is he suggesting you use? I would guess a grad., but I thought sensors had a built-in UV filter.

He never even mentioned UV filters George, I'd have been suprised if he had. It was very much about the benefits of NDgrads and a polariser, not just for balancing exposure but their creative benefits too.

I did get the impression that while he does shoot digital he's still mainly using medium format - he took a few "scouting" shots with an LX5 while were were out though. I think he's still finding his own feet with digital by the sound of things and didn't have a digital DSLR body with him, just the LX5 and his medium format gear (which he never removed from his bag).

He's a very interesting guy and the link between his photography and his love for nature/the environment was evident throughout the workshop. Just as interesting was that he hardly spoke about camera bodies, lenses etc etc - he's certainly not obsessive about camera equipment as many seem to be these days (me included from time to time!!)

Having owned the previous Sigma 17-70 (non-hsm) I certainly agree it's an excellent lens. I do find that the "Pentax effect" on the DA17-70 does produce nicer looking shots with a little better colour/contrast than the Sigma
