the key with moving water is filters, small f-stop ef F24+ and longer shutter speeds......and lots of experimentation

I've got a 190xprob series tripod, I use a K10D with battery grip and sigma 10-20, sigma macro 70 and tamron 70-300 lenses..... I shoot landscape and macro and use the quick release plate to shoot hand held from time to time.
Does anyone have any views on the Manfrotto 468MGRC4 Hydrostatic Ball head with RC4 or the Manfrotto 468MGRC5 Hydrostatic Ball Head or the Manfrotto 468MGRC3 Hydrostatic Ball Head
What about any other brands?
any comments would be appreciated.

I have the sigma 10-20 and I'm very pleased with it. I bought it after some research based on reviews, price and build quality.
The only thing I initially overlooked with 'going wide', especially for landscapes, was the impact on my filter kit. In the end I ditched my cokin p series and invested in the Lee kit to truly benefit from the 10-20 field of view - I'm sure there are other filter options to overcome vignetting.
I guess what I'm saying is, look at your filter options in addition to the lens you opt for.
Whatever you get, make sure you post us some of your work with your new lens!

here are my best shots, even with my lee filters 0.6nd and shooting at F32 it was too bright to turn the water silky

I have spent time with four professional photographers and on three of the four occasions, besides completing the work for the clients, they were helpful to the amateurs who were also present and went out of their way to encourage them without being imposing, taking a genuine interest in others desire to take some good photos. The last guy was my brothers wedding photographer and he was an arrogant ****!
I do agree with the comments about business skills, these help the professional sustain a living from their ability to take half decent pictures that meet the clients brief....consistently.
Most enthusiasts have a particular interest and we take pleasure from this and improving our skills searching for that brilliant shot, if someone likes your photos this is a bonus....
as for the kit.....I don't care, I like my pentax so I'm happy!
my two year old daughter has a kidizoom and I suspect there may be a belter on the SD card already....!

a good mix golf and photography ! what are you playing off?
I'm finding I'm wishing I had the camera on the course more and more often the wildlife is always better when the golf is not!
Hope you enjoy the forum
