I'm in Ivybridge, relatively new to DSLR (18 months). I enjoy wildlife, landscape and macro photography, keen to improve and meet up.

I'm posting a shot in the gallery later today (when my time limit is lifted) I took at the last event in May

I went on a similar course in May with Ross and, as a beginner, I found it useful, although everyone was yapping on about their canon this and canon that......

I thought a few more local pentax users/beginners attending to even up the numbers and allow us to have a serious conversation about kit etc!

I tend to wear my contacts if I'm out for the day when taking landscape shots, I cannot cope with wearing my glasses through the normal viewfinder on my K10D
Do you find the magnifying eyecup helps focusing with your landscapes as well as macro? As a novice, I've come home to load up my photos only to be quite disappointed with the sharpness of my shots.
I'm trying to ensure I'm focusing a third in and using the correct aperture to maximise front to back depth of field, I'm being more disciplined about using the tripod.....does mirror lock up really make much difference? Do more experienced photographers use manual or auto focus for landscape work, which auto focus settings do you use?
I'm just not sure as a beginner if I need to focus, pardon the pun, on developing skills first and then checking out helpful bits of kit like this, or if this would actualy help with landscape work in addition to macro work.
Any views and advice would be helpful
