These are terrific, George - zoo shots that don't look like zoo shots. I feel a trip to Doncaster looming...

Nice colours and textures, once more, but I'd prefer to see another few millimetres of sky (to allow the top of the photo to 'breathe' more easily), ditto at the bottom with the sea. But then it would look a bit too much like the opening shot! And I concur with Michael that it could do with extra elements to add interest.

White balance is looking quite cool considering the sunshine...
Ta, both, for the kind words. It's only when I revisited my post that I realised I'd included nothing but single-car action shots, which is a bit crap on my part. As for the white balance, Nigel, I left it on automatic all day - the sun was dipping in and out, so I took the easy option.

I was planning to pop in for an hour or two, to see a couple of friends, but spent rather longer trackside than I'd intended...

Again, great textures, colours and composition - a pleasingly vibrant cocktail. My first reaction on seeing this, though, was to check on-line to see how much a Samyang 14mm costs...

As for the reworked cliffs, I thought the original photo looked slightly more natural but neither version would look out of place on a lounge wall.

'Flying start' is probably the wrong phrase, given your nautical perch, but I think it's a terrific shot. I love the colour rendition and don't recall my K-7 ever recording crisp detail on a scale to match those cliff-face textures. I also had to take a second look before I noticed the boats, such is the extent to which the backdrop dominates.

Very nice work.

The best saved until last. Great colour and sharpness - and I love the big, dramatic sky. I might have been tempted to try tilting the image clockwise by a tiny, tiny margin, for curiosity's sake, but overall this is simply several shades of lovely.

I think this is my favourite so far - a lovely composition and a great sense of tranquillity. I agree with Nigel that it might be even better with the shadows tweaked, but in its original form it's still lovely.

I concur with Phil & Nigel that the colour looks slightly odd, but I don't dislike it.

There's some good, crisp detail here and the picture is nicely balanced (although I wouldn't mind an extra few millimetres of sky), but overall I find this a little less engaging than the first two, simply because it's not as visually dramatic.

The second shot rather confirms that you can eke out a happy photographic existence armed only with a K-5 IIs, an 18-135 and a north-eastern pad. I love its atmosphere and detail.

If I were to crop, I'd perhaps take half a centimetre from the bottom. I think that fragment of sky adds useful context.
