I have the greatest admiration for those who make street photography appear effortless. There are elements of this I like greatly - not least her expression and apparent obviousness to the nearby presence of a K-r. I feel vignetting is often overused an an effect, but don't feel it's overly intrusive in this instance.

A striking start.

Moody and magnificent - a definite wall candidate, as Barrie mentions.

Thanks for your endeavours during the past few days, Joe. I'll stick with #3 as my pick, but there are some lovely alternatives.

If #4 were a daytime shot, I'm not sure it would attract too many second glances (although I might be completely wrong about that - it has been known). As it is, the rich colours and wonderful exposure control give it real appeal. I prefer #3, but this is still a fine bit of work.

With the nights now drawing in, it's nearing gorillapod o'clock for evening strolls between office and station...

The second one doesn't particularly grab me, Joe - a nice enough scene, but there's nothing that really draws my eye (and I'd prefer it if the mooring post and bystander didn't overlap).

The third shot, though, is outstanding. Like Nigel, I wondered about the sawn-off first post, but I understand all too well that slight compromise is sometimes a necessary evil.

I like that very much, Joe, and as Phil mentions it is well suited to mono. I'm sitting about 25 metres from the Thames as I write, but it's far more pleasing on the eye in your shot than it is in London SW10.

The houses all seem to be standing at slightly different angles, so the image's straightness will always be relative. I think it's fine as it is and don't mind the frame at all. Thinner might be slightly more appropriate, but I don't regard it as a major minus point.

A terrific first instalment and I look forward to the second.

Fantastic light and a very pleasing image - a nice note on which to end the sequence.

I have a 28mm f2.8 loitering in a cupboard somewhere: probably about time I gave it a spin.

Nice work, Paul.

To my mind, the British GT Championship is presently the most dynamic and photogenic of our contemporary domestic racing series. The cars look and sound the part and, in most instances, are very well driven. It also has full grids and ample diversity.

The less said about British F3 and its five- or six-car fields, though, the better...

IMO these show what the K-3 and DA*300 as a combination are all about...
I also fear a trip to SRS might be looming.

Gorgeous. My favourite so far... although I'd be tempted to give it a very gentle clockwise tweak. The horizon looks ever so slightly wonky to me, but such is the colourful splendour that such trifles matter little.
