Hi malcolmk,

You are right about holding the flash in the other hand in a wireless P-TTL mode, I did it on a few occasions (works great), but later found out that doing this can easily become cumbersome, especially if you need to be dynamic and shoot dynamic subjects (people, kids, b-day parties, people candids, etc..). Maybe it's just me, but i think this method takes away the ease, ergonomics, and easily fatigues you in a short time... just me .2 cents

I used to shoot with film with my MZ-S and the AF500FTZ with the Stofen Omni cap, and shooting (people indoor) vertically with the flash swiveled upwards (about 70 degrees) consistently gives stunning results, no harsh shadows, and generally pleasing and softer flash illumination. Sad to say I can't make it to work on the *ist-D - it ALWAYS underexposes the shots 100% with AF500FTZ tilted/bounced (I posted this in another thread some time ago).

With the 360, my "underexposed bounce flash" problem has been fixed, but I would still prefer if I can can swivel the flash head without detaching it from the camera when doing verticals.

Agree with Malcolmk. The only little complain I have is the absence of head swivel, but that's very minor.

That's fine.

Yes, I have used Adaptec Easy CD creator before and I think it defaults to "Close Disk" or "Close Session?" (something like that) when burning a CD.

I had this similar problem like yours the first time I used the software, until I found this option and disabled it.

Hi Ava,

Some CD burner software have "Close Disk" option defaulted after writing. This means that anything you write on it will "close" the CD from any more writing. You must change this option to allow future writing into the same CD-R.

Which CD burner are you using, btw?

If you use Nero version 5.??, the default is to allow further writing into the same CD.

Hope that helps.

Ooopss.... I'm sorry

I may have misunderstood your previous post regarding IrfanView/Photoshop, and immediately "recoiled" without proper thinking. I reread my post and think I shouldn't have

Yes, you have a strong point about the basic tasks IrfanView can easily do especially for the enthusiasts.

And no, I really didn't mean to say IrfanView could possibly replace PS, maybe I just misinterpreted George's post.

Cheers!

No offense intended, but I'm just wondering how IrfanView could ever replace Photoshop in even the simple tasks ..... peace bro!!

Hi JimCracker,

Are you referring to the *ist-D camera?

Hi Kevin, I'm at work now while reading your post

Let me try to figure it out when I'm home, but if my memory serves me right, (and I think I read it somewhere) it will stick to P-TTL when used on *ist-D or MZ-S. But I may be wrong.

Any reason why you don't want it on P-TTL? IMO, the pre-flash could be distracting, but pre-flash and actual flash fires in a very rapid succession (almost instantaneously) unless you manually choose longer exposure and with rear-curtain sync.

Cheers.

Hi Kevin,

I assume you are talking about that pre-flash in your AF360FGZ. If I'm guessing right, worry no more. That pre-flash is part of the P-TTL feature and is NOT part of the actual exposure. It serves as a pre-reading for the metering to get the right amount of flash the next time it fires (actual flash).

My AF500FTZ does not have P-TTL (only TTL) and it doesn't behave the same way (pre-flash).

Regards.
