just been chatting to someone earlier and they are having a small wedding in a registry office close to where i liveand they fancy giving me the chance to do arriving at the venue and the ceremony and the signing and then outside and thats it. I'm charging them a fee of £0.00 and giving them the proofs, dvd and a photo album as a gift for the couple, I'll have to post some of them on here for your vetting to see if I'm good enough and worthy enough of being a wedding tog. I know the area its held at and the best places to take the pics and what the lightin is like, i dont know the couple perse but only through talking via email and chat. we will be meeting soon, I did however point out im NOT A PRO TOG and will do it for £0.00 and they sounded happy enough to help.

next question to ask ??? would a fake wedding with already made couples be enough to get me started and get used to it ???

I've seen a pic in the Amateur photographer mag, where the camera is linked up to a laptop and using the laptop to take the pictures is this possible with the ist DS ????
I've wanted to try it but i'd rather ask and find out if it is instead of trying it and messing my laptop or camera and having to fork out hundreds of £££'s to replace both.....

With respect if you turned up with your current web site I wouldn't engage you to do anything as most headings seem to have no photos attached to them such as portraits and your macro shots seem a bit soft. I guess the web site is under development but I would have thought if you aspire to work with a pro an excellent showcase portfolio either in print or on line is a given.
I don't want to be downbeat but your last entry in the gallery (which I think you're referring to) really doesn't look that sharp and isn't all that inspiring. Also it has no relevance at all to wedding/people photography. Take a dozen excellent portraits which are technically excellent and show us those. Take a look at Nathan's web site if you want to see what I mean. I really don't want to be negative but you need to be able to show any potential employer that you'll deliver reliable shots 99 times out of 100. You can learn how to organise a wedding shoot but he won't want to be training you in technical stuff nor getting acceptable composition.
Golly I do sound like a hectoring old buffer - forgive me it's meant well.
I hope you can get started as you obviously want it badly enough.

Dont worry if you think you hurt my feelings, it had to come out some day, think of it as a wake up call, I have only been doing photography since july this year and im still trying to find out what im good at and where i can improve..... All the help and CC i can get will help in the long run, I suppose i really should be lookng at getting on a course to help me through it all.....Do you have a portfolio of shots you can show photographers you want to work with (for free)? I would imagine that if you showed them a number of excellent formal portraits plus some clearly good head and shoulder shots taken at events then that would help you a lot.
