Exactly. You've hit the nail on the head of what I love about it. I'm much more aware of everything around me now. I would NEVER have seen the dunnock, or the blue tit or the curlew if I had just been out for a walk.

hehehe, me too impotentspider. I just loved the red and the oontrast when this little guy flew in. he's a bit blurry sadly but he was hopping around so much I just had to fire off this shot to stand any chance of getting one at all. Ditto re the curlew - this is the one and only shot I've got. I don't think I've even seen one until yesterday.

Fantastic image. I've never really taken many nights shot but this sort of image is quite inspiring. I must force myself to get out more after dark! (especially as the bridge is only a couple of miles away from me).

I was thinking the very same Cliff! That's a cracking shot. The detail is just fabulous.

Here's another I took yesterday of a Curlew on the shore at West Weymss.

Thanks for the link scotthehat - great site. It does indeed look like a Dunnock.

I shot this photo today in West Weymss, Fife but I have no idea what kind of bird this is. Can anybody help me identify it?

Great shots. 3, 5 and 6 really do it for me. So, THAT'S why mum's go to Iceland!

I've always wanted to visit Iceland - well, until my savings were caught up in the whole Icesave debacle earlier this year which put me off the place a bit. Terrific potential for photographers though and you've really captured the feeling of wide open space, barren lands and solitude that I always imagined.

Wow Cliff - that's BRILLIANT. I never thought it could look as good as that. I just don't think I'd be able to achieve the same, but I'll give it a try when I get some time on my hands.
Thanks a million.
