Quality shot, well framed, colour spot on. Looks sharp enough to me. Like it very much. Shows how good Pentax kit lenses really are. I have not much experience in long exposure night shots yet, waiting to get suitable tripod to have a go. By the way what exposure did you give it?

Like it! I've been wanting to try some nightscapes for a while now, never seem to get around to it.
Well done.
Well done.

I waited on a train crossing to get the light trail on the bridge, this worked out well. There's another light trail heading towards the slip way which was the ferry returning from Inchcolm Island. Not too happy about that one as i think i could have timed it better.
Also, would any other lens make the shot a bit sharper? This was taken with the 18-55 mk11 kit lens. I think it's ok, but could be a wee bit sharper.
Anyway, this is my first long exposure night shot, so any tips much appreciated.
Edited to add: 30 secs exposure. i'll update the aperture value later.

I upgraded my kit lens to the Sigma 17-70mm 2.8-4.5 and the difference in my shots has been incredible. You can pick one of these up new for around £220 which is not too painful.

Rock steady tripod, f16 or higher, remote or self timer release and bracket the exposure. You dont need advice for time of day or composition
