From what I can tell the only differences (apart from possibly price) are a change to HD coatings and rounded aperture blades. I would have thought that at the very least they'd add quick-shift if not WR and an in-lens focus motor, to bring these classics up to modern standards.
I guess it is easy to apply a coating to an existing production model and modify the blades whereas adding a motor would require major re-engineering and probably add bulk. I just hope that to reduce cost they are not compromising on the quality.

Pentax Rumours are showing the three FF compatible Limited lenses, 31mm, 43mm, 77mm, are to have new coatings and be labelled HD; the prices will also be less than current versions. Which is bloody annoying as I have recently bought the 77mm!

The other thing to do David, is to apply the NR selectively. You use PSE so you can create a NR layer with a mask. Using the paintbrush tool you can "paint in" areas of the photo where you want the NR applied, and leave other areas untouched.

I find this method far superior to a blanket NR applied to the whole picture. It prevents softening the image where NR is not needed,
Just for info you can do the same thing in Lightroom with an adjustment brush, I do this for wildlife shots where I reduce the noise just enough globally to maintain sharpness in the subject (fur, feathers etc.) and then use the adjustment brush to reduce noise further in the background where it is more obvious.

It would be fun to see a camera dedicated to old school manual operation. No AF and no video for the purists. Unfortunately it all starts getting very niche (low sales) but it would be fun.
Leica have been doing just that for years with the M series, doesn’t seem to do them any harm.

Also, Nikon are closing their Japanese factories and moving to Thailand I think.
I believe there is also a plan in place to reduce Japan’s dependence on China by moving production back home so there could be friction and difficulties in supplies there.

The phrasing of the announcement sounds a bit desperate, we don’t know what the true problem is but this is the second time the launch has been delayed so something isn’t right. With other manufacturers surging ahead with new products this is a very poor reflection on Pentax management.

I see that Bill Ward has been interviewed about his book in this week's AP. Nice article, well done!

Congratulations on the order, it is good to reprocess sometimes as your skills and the software develop.

Have I missed something? I went to bed in winter and woke up in spring, how long was I out for?!

Thanks all, sorry to disappoint Mike-P! I felt a bit bad because when I first saw him he was curled up having a nap, but as soon as I brought the camera up he was awake. Visiting that spot before I assumed the flattened grass was human behaviour! I have seen the occasional fox around but always at a distance and in poor light. Luckily for me the camera settings were ready in TAV mode from the egret shots.
