I am tempted by one as well for the same reasons, my only hesitation being that I gather it cannot be used to trigger another remote flash so for that I would need ANOTHER unit! If it is updated to do that then I would get one like a ..... !

P.S. Wex Photographic and Castle Cameras have it for £89.00

Rumours - food for speculation and gossip, what's the problem? Some evolve into a more cogent product development, others maybe not. As Pentax users we are eager to see Ricoh's plans develop for bringing this great brand back to where it should be and I am sure it helps Ricoh to know how much interest is out there.

Just harmless fun, we are not breaking any laws here so keep them coming!

I can get this app to work with the K-1 fine on my ipad, but my iphone 5 detects the camera in Settings-wifi but when I open the app it says no camera connected. I tried reloading the app but it makes no difference. Any ideas?

PS It occurred that the iphone would be a handy wireless trigger in the field when I don't want to lug the ipad around.

The same site indicates that a new Pentax 100mp medium format camera will be launched in September. With the K-1 edging into the 645Z resolution territory this seemed the logical step, and other MF manufacturers are going that way too.

Curious, the lens isn't on the Pentax lens roadmap; could be interesting though.

Check out page 69 of the manual, the bit about Peripheral Illumination Correction (to eliminate vignetting). The lens correction works at FF on the DA*200, DA*300, and DA 560 lenses; with these exceptions it doesn't work on other DA lenses apparently although I just tried the 50mm f1.8 and 55-300 and didn't notice any vignetting although in bright daylight that may change.

I defer to John Riley's review so I am putting my experience to my own shortcomings. I have noticed an improvement in using spot focus but not quite the effortless crispness as with the 100mm macro, and I must say the Sigma 150-500 before it was quarantined. My pics were taken with a polarising filter and someone has mentioned this affects the lens; it's a Marumi so it should be ok but I will be testing this a bit more.

After deliberation I opted for the Pentax HD PENTAX-D FA 28-105mm F3.5-5.6 ED DC WR for two reasons; first it is lighter than the 24-70 so more manageable as a walk-around lens, and second as prices will drop I expect the more expensive one will go down by more than the other, so if I want the 24-70 I would rather wait. However I am currently thinking of supplementing the 28-105 with a couple of FF primes which will of course be the best option for low light conditions, be lighter in the bag and be at a relatively lesser cost. Bear in mind the current range is planned to be updated next year. John is right, of course, in that your expectations are higher so you become more hypercritical of your results but when it works the results are great! And I have found that reducing noise in post processing can be achieved without noticeable loss of sharpness.
