Pentax Image Sync (iPhone - App)

Morning all,

Just wondered if anyone's having any success with the Image Sync app on their iPhone's?

I can view the photo's via the app, and able to access the pinwheel icon and click the transfer to iPhone button.
I see some activity but the photo doesn't seem to land on the phone at all.

Any help appreciated!

P.s I believe this is specifically an Apple/iPhone issue as I haven't read of any issues with Android.

Ah ignore this, updated the camera firmware and it works a treat!

I can get this app to work with the K-1 fine on my ipad, but my iphone 5 detects the camera in Settings-wifi but when I open the app it says no camera connected. I tried reloading the app but it makes no difference. Any ideas?

PS It occurred that the iphone would be a handy wireless trigger in the field when I don't want to lug the ipad around.

I've just tried it with the K-1 and it works just fine. It's not something that fits my way of working, but I can see there are possibilities.

I tried it with my Android. I did get it to work and could use it as a live view remote. But it wasn't without a lot of hassle where the wi-fi said it was connected but didn't accept the password it gave to use. If it was like that every time it would be a lot of hassle and effort for not very much reward! That was with the original firmware, perhaps its been tweaked in the update because of that.
It would be useful to have something similar that worked on the PC without spending a fortune possibly to find it still doesn't work as you want it to.

I use the Image Sync app on my Android phone with my K S2 regularly, it works just fine. The K S2 does nt have a wired remote option strangely but this works fine

I just want some comments regarding a problem that I am having with Image Sync on Android - I have used 2 different makes of phones but the problem is exactly the same.
My phone connects with the K1 without any problem and I can see all the images already on the SD card but am unable to get any image through Live View. I can change all the settings on the camera (through the phone) but there's just a black screen where the live image should be. I even get the focal point 'square' and it even makes a beep when the camera focuses at a new spot.
Firmware ver 1.10
Android ver 5.0.1

Hi all. I've just come across this thread. I'm thinking of getting a Windows tablet. Would any of this you are all talking about work from a wi-fi / FLU card in a K3 and or a K3ii on a Windows tablet?????????????????.
Answers to be understood by a 2yr. old. And in non technical terms.

hi Vic,

I have a cheap (my son bought it for me, off ebay I guess) multi card reader I plug into the micro USB connecter on my excellent high res. Android Samsung Galaxy S2 8 inch tablet. I gather not all models do this though. No knowledge of the Windows variants of such devices.

Re: Android version.

I'm sure I did have this working but all I get now is a blank Live View. Is there something I need to turn on to enable Live View properly. I can control the camera, but not see the image!

To Bill (vwbarnes) In the end I bought an NVIDIA SHIELD Android 8" tablet. If I bought a FLU card OR a Wi-Fi??? card can I project my images onto my laptop???. As before answers kept simple.
Anyone can help. Not just Bill.

Not sure about wifi cards BUT I simply put the pics I want to share on Google Photos (unlimited if you allow a little resizing) Then they are automatically available on my Android tablet, my wife's phone, my PC, the wife's PC and by ethernet to our big TV etc. If you create albums you can share them privately with whoever you like and allow them to join for updates, add their own or not etc as you see fit.
