Curiously, Auto setting exposes perfectly. Never used it before but you can set the ISO and in the menu are some priority options, I selected the one for sharpest images (it uses the lens ID for this); could have been depth of field or shutter speed. Here are a couple of cropped images from today with a Marumi close-up filter attached and with slight adjustment in Lightroom:

And one from last night with the Pentax ring flash set to -16, one side only, and the flash setting in the camera at -2. Manual setting.Comment Image

Oh heck that's not good news. Does this happen with any other lenses?

Just found the same problem on another forum - oil from AF drive gears getting onto the aperture control ring. Get it cleaned off and should be fine but don't fancy doing it myself so I'll see if the local LCE can do it.

I just tried the lens on a different body (K50) and it was fine. Also tried another mechanically-linked lens on the K1 and that was fine too. It just seems the combination of the 100mm macro and K1 is giving the overexposure problem. HarisF1, the lever springs back but not snappily so you could be right, I have been flicking it for a bit but it hasn't got much quicker. Puzzling it should be ok on the K50 though.

A bright sunny day with the macro 100mm on a K1, lens hood attached; in TAV and AV modes it is hopelessly overexposing with high ISO levels. Same in Manual using the green button. I tried different aperture reading settings but it made no difference. Switched to a different lens and that was fine. Any Ideas?

None of the latest camera bodies are listed, shame, it is (or was) a good showcase.

Just came across a couple of dragonflies over a large puddle, only had the 24-70 lens on but when they cheekily hovered a few inches in front of the lens I tried a few shots. On every one they zipped off as I pressed the shutter! So, great respect for your outstanding images, well done. What focus do you use? Manual, tracking or spot?

Update if you are interested - Premier Ink and Photographic are continuing to stock the smaller items like filters, sd cards, photo printer cartridges and paper, as they can still offer good prices on these. They have stopped advertising in AP due to rising costs and dropping circulation. I have always found their prices the best around so worth checking the website if you need any accessories.

Sympathies! Well at least the removers turned up, not like ours who had forgotten the booking - new owners hammering on the door waiting to move in, not fun. It was just before Christmas and the new house wasn't ready, so we rented a holiday cottage nearby. The owner had thoughtfully put decorations everywhere and it was in a really quiet part of the country so at the end of the week we were a bit loathe to leave! Strange sense of suspension, all our worldly goods in storage and all our money in a solicitor's client account. What else could possibly go wrong?!

If i didn't already have one I might be tempted, but you would need some nice silver lenses to match. Curious it's not appeared in the News section here.
