I should have added that the first one I bought from SRS was faulty in that it wasn't charging at all but as usual they changed it no probs. That must have been a rogue battery as Chris told me at the time that they have never had any that haven't charged.

Well as it's shown as a 1300mAh I have only used it in the grip as a back-up power source. It still takes ages to charge though - probably as long as the original

Can't really say how many shots I get out of it though but it seems okay as a back-up.

There are plenty of comments around the 'net at the moment regarding this issue. Perhaps they should have started this fundraising mission during the display season this year.

There also seems to be have been some problems with management over the years with this project which has held it up.

I am hoping to see it again in the air next season but how many times do we have to hear the collection tins rattling at the end of every season? They have always tried to arract a major sponsor but this has never happened, if a sponsor was found even for a couple of years then that will provide some kind of certainty especially for those involved in the project and those that work on the aircraft.

I'm using one at the moment as a spare and haven't had any problems with it. They dispatch quickly and you get free postage once you give your forum name

As a member of the club associated with this aircraft I've had a card come through the post today stating that "If nothing changes XH558 will be out of money by Christmas. The administrators will be called and she could be grounded for good.

What I find amazing is that this isn't the first time that this has happened. A couple of years ago they were bailed out at the last minute and last year a similar scheme managed to find enough money for this season.

Why have they not foreseen that this could have happened again?
