Was interested in the inquiry about Lea and Perrins Worcester Sauce. Does it work? Reason I ask is that L&P Worcester Sauce used to belong to the rather distant Perrins branch of my family before it was sold off to a multi-national.

I wish I was clever like you Algi, maybe an age thing so I have lots to learn I've got a set of extension tubes but no Soy Sauce. Will it work just as well with Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce. Stan you need to try an Extension Tube between the bellows and the camera.
I've got a couple of genuine Pentax adapters and a Chinese one. The Chinese one stinks of SOY SAUCE

I would appreciate a little more info on the use of Pentax lenses on Fuji cameras. Was that a serious comment about blue tac or just a joke?

Thanks to all who took the trouble to respond to my enquiry. There are not many camera shops nearby so your advice was much appreciated. In the end I bought a Manfrotto travel tripod as it was the only brand they had. I think it is important to support local shops if we want to try before buying.

And you ONLY need the latest. It is a full firmware build. Don't do as I have heard some others do and work through update 1, update 2, update 3.I see there are now three K3 firmware updates available.

I am loking for a travel tripod for use with a Pentax K3 and 17-70 lens. The Benro Travel Angel (the first version without the detachable monopod) with a B0 ball head seems to be top of the list. Has anyone got this? I am particularly concerned with the ball head; is it sufficienly strong to hold steady? Will it take longer lenses? Is the head detachable so that a larger one can be fitted if necessary?
Also are there any other small travel tripods to consider. Preferably small enough to fit into hand luggage on a plane.

(2) a 24mm lens. The most cost-effective 24mm tend to be the Tamron Adaptall f2.5 ones (I have one and I am pleased with it), but the Sigma Ultrawide II is the one to get if you can track one down. Pentax 24mm lenses seem to go for more money that I think they are worth.
With luck, you should be able to get both of the above for around £100 or less, in good condition. Which leaves £50 to put towards your next lens!

Members of the forum should note that a K mount Sigma Superwide ii 24mm f2.8 lens in my possesion is not compatible with K20D. It will mount and lock in place on K mount film cameras e.g. Pentax K1000 and ME Super, but will not lock in place on a K20D.

I have just acquired a Hahnel HW 433 80 pro remote control from within the UK for use with my Pentax K20D.
I did not fancy buying from Hong Kong despite the cheap prices. Last time I did that I suffered a spam-a-lot experience.
The box says it is for all Canon DSLR cameras but a small red sticker added as an after thought specifies Pentax K7, K10 , K20, K100, K200 & Samsung GX20 as well.
For the K7 the jack socket is on its own under a cover on the side of the camera. On the K20 the jack socket is in with two other sockets under a cover on the left hand side of the camera.
This radio remote socket is not mentioned (I think) in the K20 manual but (again, I think, but could be wrong)that Pentax only supply an IR remote that works with sensors on the front and back of the camera.
The receiver unit fits into the accessory shoe on top of the camera.
For the record the Hahnel HW 433 works perfectly with the K20 alowing auto focus with a half press of the release button on the hand held unit and auto focuss followed by immediate release of the shutter on full press of the button. There is also slide switch for 4 second delay of the shutter release.
The release worked from the off but again for the record the camera settings were found to be:-
custom menu:-
13) AF button function ENABLE AF
14) AF by press half way- ON
16) AF in remote control - OFF !! (this must only refer to the Infra red release)
29) Flash in wireless mode- ON
Drive Mode (Fn followd by up) set to single shot. (I have not tried the other modes), Drive mode does not need to be set to the final choice, remote release, This again must only refer to the Infra red release.
