Lens fungus

Actually, I don't think it is fungus.
Fungus spreads in irregular patterns like a scrawl, this has regular "spokes" leading to a central hub. I reckon that lens has been dropped and two elements have seperated causing the cement between them to fracture - the lens has then yellowed to cause the pattern you see in the picture.
Either way I think it's fair to say the lens has seen better days...

Really? I thought it was maybe a mushroom growing in there - hence a fungus but not the normal lens fungus that people see.

With over 200 aperture blades it must produce a really rich, smooth, creamy, tasty bokeh sauce. Mmmmmmm bokeh sauce

Judging by how cheaply they sell for I'm wondering if this is actually the best thing you can do with a Sigma 28-80mm...
