Colours and composition are lovely, and the textures are very inviting, giving a nice tactile feel to the picture.

I think it needs a touch more DOF as the tip of the beasties snout is a little too soft for my taste.

All in all tho, I think it's a lovely shot, very imaginatively lit..

Lose, damage or have stolen the Netbook (drive, etc), as long as you have the Memory cards, you've still got the pictures, or vice-versa.

And as it goes, yeh, I've lost a film the shots I took on top of Table Mountain, the 2nd to last roll I shot from my trip to Africa. That was a bugger!

There is also a Custom submenu setting on the K10d, something to do with automatically adjusting the WB. At work at the mo', so can't be more specific, but I was playing around with various options last night and remember checking it out.

I think that's the point of having it as a 'backup' It's one thing to have your images on several SD cards. What happens if you lose one of those memory cards?

The whole point of having a backup is, that you have... Well, a backup!

I'd rather take the Netbook with me, copy the images and then switch memory cards, knowing that I have the Netbook and the images on the memory card.

Personally, it's the ergonomics that make me love my Pentax. I came from using a fully manual mechanical Zenit, followed by a MZ-7. For me, the Pentax controls and placement are just much more intuitive then any of the other brands.

Which is way I always tell people to try things out before buying something. What feels right to one person, may not to another, and that will effect how I take photos. If you're comfortable with the camera, if it's intuitive to you, you will find it easier to take pictures.

For me, the relative differences in performance between cameras are not going to limit me more then my own ability, so it was how it felt to use that was important. And I like Pentax

IMHO, that would only ever be a problem for someone who mistakes a Netbook for a Laptop. And there are a lot of 'em about!

Yes, a Netbook can run pretty much everything a 'real' PC can, just don't expect it to multi-task any better then a PC from pre-dual core days.

Would putting 'Newark-on-Trent' be too poncy?
