Ive really enjoyed shooting 35mm film over the last few months and have now bought a scanner so i can do my scans etc.

I am so tempted to break into medium format but am afraid of buying something expensive and hard to use etc.

If I wanted to start shooting good quality portraits what camera lens combo would you recommend that I could start with?

6x7 is on the cards but I want a good lens to go with it

Anyone?

Ive just recently upgraded my scanner (the V500) and have to say on auto scan it does a great job.

I dont really see a big difference between that and the pro mode with all the bells and whistles. Great scanner fro under 150 notes.

Here are a few shots

(Mz-6 and ilford HP5 400)

I would like to hear what would be a great lens for my film camera (MZ-6) for doing my street portraits.

For a year now Ive used the K-5 and DA 50 135mm but want something around the 85 - 100 range for film stuff.

Anyone who has experience of using the M 85mm F2 or Samyang 1.4 please let me know!

Cheers

past caring to be honest

Ricoh have missed the boat in my opinion. The mirrorless generation is pushing forward. I have used a Sony A6000 and Fuji X100s over the last two months and firmly believe thats where photography is going in the future

Just as Ricoh/Pentax make the big leap, Canon and Nikon will release their big hitting small cameras and push us even further into Prehistoric camera times

Its too late to release a FF camera now but then they didnt have the money a few years ago...

And thats precisely why the camera will cost a bloody fortune!

At last!

Ive finally managed to get out and indulge in my fav photography - Wildlife.

Over the last year ive spent more time in front of the computer doing weddings, portraits and other jobs.

This evening I managed to slip away to squeeze off a few shots - and what an evening it was.

Female Kestrel photos - I know a lot of you in England see it quite regularly but over here on the emerald isle its numbers are really declining

All shots with the K-5 and Sigma 150 500
