One of my favourite places - in the world! Number 3 with the sand/water patterns is lovely and the day improved as you went on. Thanks for posting.

The depth of colour in number 2 is lovely. I think the composition of the last image of the mushroom is excellent. framing depth of field, lighting all make a memorable image from a simple object.

So much to like about the last photo. Strong shapes, texture in the bridge, clouds and river. Monochrome works really well. Reviewing all the images I am drawn back to the first and I can't quite work out why, maybe because it is almost a silhouette. Enjoyed them all.

Number 3 is great. I have walked past that area dozens of times and not "seen" that image. Well done.

Last image is lovely with the cloud colour and the light on the trees.

Many interesting photos in the Brownsea sets. Can’t pick a favourite as so many different styles. The first is a lovely clean image.

Well done with those images. We went and the backgrounds were very distracting, even a car in the marquee. Thought the displays were excellent and had great craftsmanship. (Are we allowed to use that word nowadays?)

Thanks for comments.

Just looked through my photos and realised I have only used my KP for two trips this year. Must be getting lazy.

Now the days are getting shorter it is time to plan a proper photo trip or two with lots of lenses.

Regards

Peter

With the release of the GRIIIx and some discussion here I thought a few photos from our walk around Harlow Carr this morning would add to the conversation. I was with my wife and just wandering, admiring the late summer borders and the ongoing developments. The Ricoh is just used as a record of our visit so set in AV mode, auto ISO, multi segment AE, vivid jpeg and the option of touch screen focal point. These images are SOOC to illustrate how a "point and shoot" can work. Must admit the 28mm lens works for me and don't see how the 40mm will improve my type of general photography. I do have the KP and several Limited lenses when I am on my own and taking my time. Please don't critique the photos for their photographic merit, just examples of how easy the Ricoh makes taking a decent photograph is.
