Hi: I've been considering getting something better than my basic IR remote shutter release for my K-5ii. Will this Trigmaster system work just as a remote shutter release as well as flash triggers? I'm not very well up on this!

Just spotted that SRS have the K-3 II at £100 off this weekend only (ends 24 September). At £699 this seems to be the cheapest price around for body only.

Tempting, but think I must resist - there's life in the K5 II yet....

The DA* 50-135 is a stellar lens, possibly the best or one of the best Pentax zooms you can lay your hands on
Thanks, David - lovely images! I really should have responded sooner. Followed the link to your Flickr account too and am reminded I've plenty to learn! You've certainly confirmed that this would be a great lens to have.

If you haven't spotted these, Manfrotto have some special offers on a range of items, mainly lighting accessories but also some monopods and bags. I've just bought a pair of their Bushnell Trophy XLT binoculars,10x28 - compact, waterproof and seem pretty good to me, and at least half the price of anywhere else. I also picked up a lightweight Pixi tripod which should hold my K5ii and a prime lens - though the cheap models (old colours, I assume) seem now sold out.

Ah! Well, that settles that for me! Thanks for the response. I have the 55-300, but have missed the ability to shoot at 2.8 in awkward light. And the SDM would be handy. But not now...

Hi

Have you got any image samples of the 50-135? Just wondering if it's worth the upgrade...

Thanks

Yep: delivered next day. Both items look good - a handy light for video (or stills), with variable power levels, and a quite impressive softbox for the flashgun. All lit up!

Manfrotto are currently having a clearance, with 75% off if you spend over £25. In practice, that means that the items on the clearance pages, which are already half-price, have another 25% reduction at the checkout. This made prices of my order today: Spectra 500s LED light just £37.48, SpeedBox 22cm softlight £12.62. These seem to be end of line items, but look good products still. Delivery is fixed at a fiver - and my order has been despatched the same day, I've just learnt.

Everything else on their site is currently 15% off orders over £25 for a limited period.

Looks a great price for an excellent lens - the one I use most!

You can also get this card for £22.99 from MyMemory, post paid - which seems to be about the same as the current Amazon France price, and a bit cheaper than the Amazon UK price.

Probably as good is MyMemory's offer of the Integral 64GB UltimaPro SDXC Card UHS-I - quite a bit cheaper at £17.99. I've used one of these for a while and found it fast and reliable. Might get another now....
