Many, many thanks for posting this, Tom, as I haven't seen one for many a year and I'd quite forgotten what a handsome bird the wheatear is 8) A timely reminder that I need to visit the upland areas of t'North whilst I've still got the legs and stamina to enjoy them  Jon

Wheely impressive, Andrew: I never tyre of seeing your beautifully framed compositions. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that you've definitely stepped up a gear with this one  Staged or stumbled upon (just curious: my opinion remains the same whichever) :?: Jon

Supremely evocative image and, on a very personal level, extremely moving. I spent some of the happiest years of my life in Sheffield in the early - mid 80s and regularly journeyed out into the Peak District (dark and white) at weekends and during the holidays with my young daughter, born in 1978, and future wife. A wonderful lakeland vista, the essence of which many have tried to distill into photographic form, but none, IMHO, with the success that you have here :P Jon

Stunning light, colour and composition! Might benefit from a few gentle strokes (soft brush) with the burn tool down the LH edge of the foremost catkins in an effort to bring back a little detail in the highlights. Nit-picking, I know, but with such a wonderful capture it is all the lucky viewer is left with  Jon

Top shot and treatment, Roger! If you ever get round to offering a residental course in our beloved Wiltshire on creating striking images out of the seemingly mundane, do, please, let me know 8) Jon

I like it! Very creative and much more than just 'another bird picture' :P: Jon

Wonderfully artistic lateral thinking: what do you have for breakfast in the morning :?: Jon:wink:

Wonderful composition, colours and light, Carl, but, to be curmudgeonly frank, would have been better 'Baht'at' :!: Just joshing  Jon

Very evocative! Exceptional composition with the lights on the left leading the eye from the cyclist in the foreground to one in the distance shrouded in mist. The choice and careful use of B&W complements the subject, time and weather conditions wonderfully. I kneel before thee, O Master  Jon
