Anyone have any experienct with Team pictures? I am attempint to do team pictures of a girl's football team, age 6 to 7. the photographers I have seen, use a canopy and a flash. Is this so that they can minimize shadow from the sun? I have rented a flash fr the week-end. I am using the 70-70mm F/2.8 from Sigma.

Pentax has only 2 DSLR bodies for sale. Sony has about 11. The P/S market is saturated and now the DSLR markethas reached the end of the line. Camera bodies were hitting the market about every 2 years. I am still using my K10 and ME. The Camera industry is being re-invented. It will settle somewhere between what Leica does and what everyone else does. The days of mass producing DSLR's are over. Prices have been dropping. I saw a brand new Nikon D700 for about 1,000 Pounds and the K-7 for about 400 pounds. I am about to purchase new lenses and computers before prices increase when the new generation of cameras are for sale.

seeing touists taking pictures with the sun shining right into the lens. It is funnier when they do it with 35mm film.

I still use 35mm film and slide film. I can see the advantages to digital and use the K10D when shooting sports. I use film when I want to work on something for myself. I also use Med. format when I want real quality. Digital has changed how I view photography. when I judge photographs, I tend to be very harsh. Anyone can point and shoot. If someone used film to take a picture, then he had to do more than hold a camera, there is no need to focus anymore. I read an artical about an ameture photographerwho uses a DSLR on full auto because he doesn't want to be bothered with having to do anything. I find film still to be better than Digital.

I had read about black silicon as well. a new generation of sensor are comming but if already have cameras with perminent sensors in them, we won't be buying a new body just to get a new sensor. If sensors can be changed, the consumers will be upgrading more often. It will be interesting to see what hits the market next.

I was using a 35-70mm Miranda lens which I purchased in Newcastle at Dixon's for 35 Pounds back in 1987. No lens hood was used
The Flare gives it an omonous look. I took this picture in a ghost town. Only three buildings were still standing

There has been a lot of activity in Japan about the new generation of sensors which are going to be launched soon. Some famous photographers were invited to speak to all camera manufaturers. I have no inside knowledge of the meeting.
I know professional photographers and those who work for Nikon, and Canon. What I have been told is speculation but a posibility. The next generation of camera bodies may have sensors in them whicg can be up-graded. In other words, you buy a camera body and replace the sensor, not buy a new camera. Prices have been falling, a Nikon D300 is about 150 Pounds more expensive that the K-7 at one shop. Pentax now has a MED. Format DSLR. I believe that there is a funadmental shift in technology and how Cameras will be sold and marketed.
