I must not forget to mention the efficiency of Royal mail, I sent my cash back application to Pentax by recorded signed for on the 29th nov and to this day royal mail tracking system says my letter is going through their network eventhough it was delivered. I see the reason why they are so keen to go on strikes so often and not happy for the business to modernise.C'mon guys get your act together.

When you load up your images on to Adobe photoshop elements 8, in the metadata gives all the details of an image and in it under the category Sharpness is shown as Hard and the Contrast is set as 2.
I was told that the contrast has to be ether standard or 0, and the sharpness has to be changed as well.
I tried looking in the camera menu and setup options but could not find settings for sharpness or contrast.
Tried looking in the custom setting as well but nothing is mentioned about sharpness settings.
Hope i have made myself clear now.
Thanks

I am unable to change my Sharpness and Contrast settings on my K20D while previewing in Adobe Photshop elements 8 metadata.
The sharpness is set as Hard and the contrast as 2. I tried my level best to see in my camera set up as well as custom menu but no joy.
Any advice please is much appreciated
Cheers

Hi Prem
A group meet is only an occasional thing here at PU, but I'm sure you'd find people to help you and you would feel welcome and included.
Have you considered joining a Photographic Society? Many now cater properly for newcomers to digital photography and it could be a useful way to get "up to speed" quickly.
Otherwise, buy magazines, work through the CD/DVD tutorials, find a good book.....and any queations you have fee free to post them here on the forum!
Hope that helps!
Thanks for your response. I will certainly get in touch with DB and take it from there. I also found couple of books by Scott Kelby and Brian Peterson and also Peter Burian for K20D.
Cheers

I would love to visit one of the forum meets in Berks. As a novice I need all the info regarding how to go about using my K20D. I have no previous knowledge of DSLR, having said that, I have spent quite a bit to equip myself all the accessories to begin with.
Would like to know if its going to be useful for aperson like me to attend a forum meet or am I going to get lost in the techinical world of the event?
Your advice is much appreciated
Regards
Prem

Footnote
DA 10-17 fisheye was £356.80 from PurelyGadgets.co.uk
DA 12-24 was £742.80 from Amazon.co.uk
prices included VAT and delivery.
As I bought from 2 places I can only claim cashback on the 12-24 which will be £50
Purely Gadgets are not a listed UK dealer, I'm pretty certain they supply grey imports. Also I'm not sure if Amazon are a Pentax dealer, they are not listed as a dealer on the Pentax UK site, also many of the stores who supply via Amazon are grey importers as well, i.e. British Bargains.
