Came back to check here recently after a long time not looking here, spotted this, while I don't know what has happened - it looks familiar to couple of similar (smaller scale?) "problems" I remember happening in the past , this forum is unique in couple ways ...

Another interesting bit, just got email from Jessops Photo saying that their customer database has been acquired by Cewe Color Ltd and they are going to continue with online photo services.

Happened that today morning I was passing by Oxford Street Jessops branch and first noticed guy in jessops t-shirt cleaning window, that was surprising, then noticed plenty of suited people inside, "party" ongoing and a tv transmission car in a nearby street, just later I found news about re-opening. In the afternoon I saw customers in the shop, I thin they had some special offers as well, may be worth checking shops and web when its alive.
Just in case someone is interested New Oxford St branch looked as closed as it was in last months.

As mentioned number of times on the forum, *60-250mm is a very slow focusing lens, it is going to be frustrating at times.
Also 200/250mm will often be too short for wildlife - if we are not talking about heavy cropping (of course that depends what wildlife and how are you going to be prepared ), on Nikon/Canon people usually pair 70-200 f/2.8 with 1.4TC and that usually works well for them (one of the answers about Pentax - where is that TC after so many years)

Some examples of photos taken with K20D + DA* 60-250mm.
Click on photo for bit better quality, when posted directly in the thread forum decreases picture quality.

I don't have airshow experience but I can imagine the always available focus ring on the 60-250 could be very worthwhile for catching moving aircraft against the sky. Just a thought.
Not at all, it would have to be a very slow moving aircraft to focus on it manually. Also with default focusing screen it will be difficult to focus properly, especially that these aircraft most of the time will be just small in viewfinder - 250mm is not enough for most airshows (when taking about flying planes, usually you can get near enough planes on the ground, taking off).
I did number of airshows and number of airshows with 60-250, simply it is a very slow focusing lens, it doesn't mean it is impossible to take pictures, but number of ones in focus will be significantly lower than if you would use other kit (C/N) with fast focusing lens (these systems actually have a choice there) and occasional frustration from pics you couldn't take at all because it didn't focus at all has to be accounted for.
As a side note, I used 55-300, this was an excellent lens (in its class).
