Fish eye taken from the ground facing up at 45 deg at the entrance. Look like the inside of a rib cage. And even better if you can double the symmetry using the water reflection.

The thing that my eye sees straight away is the person in the pink coat walking down the path and try as I might I cannot seen to 'remove' her from the image and focus on the subject at hand!
I agree with snappychappy about getting lower. You'll maximize that reflection and also make the structure seem more imposing in the frame. I think your shot above also lacks contrast and either a levels mid point slider is in order or a contrast boost itself

Has anyone moved from a k10 to a kr and were glad they did?, after trying one in Jessops I was suprised how much spec they've packed into a smaller body, obviously it lacks the solidity and weather proofing of the k10 but the increased spec makes it look a good move.
Budget excludes the k5 and k7 until prices drop....

I think the output from CMOS sensors tends to look softer than that from CCD sensors "straight from the camera" so I'm not surprised it doesn't compare that well to the K10 and K100. As JR says, you'll just have to start using a bit more software sharpening to bring the detail out.
Unfortunately I doubt we'll ever see CCD sensors in "consumer" level cameras again - it's the price we've paid for high ISO performance.
