Take a walk out there some time after 1030 on Sat 15th March and you will be treated to the sight of a steam train crossing the 82 arches See: http://www.railwaytouring.net/uk-day-trips/buxton-spa-express Otherwise it is occasional freight. It might be nice to get closer and more side-on to the viaduct to show more of it's length. It is nearly 3/4 mile long I believe.

I very much enjoyed my first proper meet with the Pentax steam enthusiasts and have just about shaken off the effects of the early start on Sunday! I like the glint from the low sun, David and also the colours of the light interacting with the steam.

Good use of the long exposure and the grad filter saves you from being another Mel Allen 'wannabe'.

I found the drifting steam a bit of a nuisance in my shot, but here I agree with Mac that it adds much to the atmosphere. Perhaps this would suit a mono treatment too?

A good job done with exposure and detail. I detest that new hotel because it is so out of scale with everything else on the Sheffield sky-line, but you have made good use of it for composition purposes. The smoke and grime went in the 60's, by the way!

Wouldn't it be great if this became one of the most viewed pics ever!! Absolutely NOT - don't be SO sentimental! Photographers come, photographers go, but the forum will continue because it is not about one man, however highly some of you seem to regard Mr Wilson. There are plenty of other wise and helpful people on this forum so why not appreciate them instead?
