It was worth to scroll down to see the last photo. It's definitely the best here for me.

There is some useful information here about Pentax fit lenses:

I know of one store not too far from where I live who sell old lenses etc. A phone call to them might give you some help.

Really admire your cojones for this sort of thing

I like no.1 as well, but think it might be improved by cropping the top of the image away

I was getting a lot of poor quality/blurry images when panning and eventually realised that this was often due to the camera shake reduction not having stabilised. This can take up to a second, and it is unlikely to stabilise whilst panning. Nowadays I turn off SR for this kind of picture, and get much better results. Still plenty of poor shots, but certainly more and better keepers.

The lensbaby system bag is pretty good as well, very compact. I bought two when SRA had them for £16 or so

I have one of these too, and it works just fine for the DA Limiteds

Another vote for the K-x. Takes great pictures, and for a first DSLR is a great learning tool. I agree that the lack of autofocus indicators is a nuisance, but it's not a big problem. If you set it to use centre point AF (which I tend to mostly use anyway) then it's much less of an issue.

So far it's not something that has caused me any problems with the IIs. There's been nothing apparent in any of my pictures at normal viewing resolutions. There have been some where it is more noticeable when you zoom in looking for it (such as bird feathers) and even then it's not been bad enough to concern me.
As LennyBloke has commented, the sharpness with decent lenses is noticeably better.
