My KX was the compensation when for health reasons I had to give up my BMW R1150R
You had to give up your R1150 R . . . . . . .
That's sad
Still, the Pentax is a good choice for some compensation
Thanks, and then a KR and now a K5 plus numerous lenses as is the way. I'm sure I've spent more than on the bike value by now [/quote] Almost as addictive as being out on the bike, isn't it!

I'm no expert but it helps to take a reading from the ground -- grass or even tarmac -- and lock this in. It's not easy to adjust exposure "on the fly", particularly with fast jets. Mind you, we've got some top-notch airshow photographers here and I'm sure they'll come up with a better approach.

I've taken this approach when photographing birds in flight, and then used that as a base for setting everything up manually. It seems to work well enough for me in getting the exposure about right.

Nice, think this will be a much better lens than the Pentax 20-40mm.
And much bigger and heavier
Bit like the DA* 300mm Vs the Sigma 100-300mm f4 ?
Can't argue with that . . . .

On, the other hand, Sigma 100-300 is 370g more than DA* 300 . . . . Sigma 18-35 is 527g more than the Pentax 20-40.
A fair old difference for a lens at that FL

Sigma 100-300 received today. Very well packaged and from the first few test shots everything is just fine.

This lens will help me cut back my lens collection by replacing the DA* 300 (which wasn't getting enough use) and the Sigma 70-200 which a friend had from me yesterday.

On the basis of this transaction and communication we've had I am quite happy to recommend Bruno to any other potential purchasers as a reliable member
