Superb shots - looks like a very capable little camera.

D60s were 250 quid in PC World at one stage! Unbelievable - nearly bought one myself when I went in to play with a Pentax K200D! It did not feel as solid as the Pentax though.

Hi all. I have one of these (in PK-M fit), and was just wondering if any other forum members have any experience or knowledge of the lens. Debating whether to sell it and obtain a 24mm f2.8 lens in a PK-A fit which would be more useful for digital, and have a slghtly less extreme wideangle on film. Any idea how much I could ask for it?

There's a quite positive Ken Rockwell review here: http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/17tokina.htm

Thanks

Will

It really does seem to me that people have just read 'same sensor and 5fps' and the conclusion is 'sod that for a bunch of soldiers!'
5 fps is a significant improvement, as Pentax's slow burst modes are its most signifcant failing so far - almost an embarrassment! The sensor has apparently been upgraded, and will deliver less noise. I'll wait for the reviews but this sounds like the IQ is going to be jaw dropping, as the previous sensor was already impressive!

Is the K-7 going to be the new Pentax LX? The strategy of producing a full featured high-end camera in a small attractive body sounds familar. I won't be able to afford it for a few years, but I hope I'm going to be able to grab me a K-8, or perhaps even a K-9.

K-9?

Looking on ebay for a nice ME Super, I came across the above camera - unlike the ME Super it's aperture priority only, no DOF preview, no exp. compensation (although it does have a manual ISO wheel, which would do the same thing), smaller and less accurate viewfinder.

Despite all this, I bought it for thirty quid - because the description said it came with an f1.2 50mm SMC-M lens!

However, after the reckless excitement of the auction, it seems probable that the listing was inaccurate, and the lens was actually only an f2

Should I try and 'void' the sale, or have I actually bought a camera which is worth having?

So people are knocking the Pentax K-7 before it's even been reviewed? On the basis of its VIDEO capability? And something which isn't a 'flaw' unique to Pentax? Wow!

Matt makes a very good point. An older 6mp model like the K100D would be a great c.£150 second hand choice to get you started. The K10D is certainly worth a mention too at less than £300 second hand!

Down the road you may wish to upgrade to the apparently flawless K7, or you may even prefer the K20D - either way you can take advantage of falling prices and could keep the older body as a spare or flog it - it won't lose much value at those prices!

Come on - look at the coated metal cameras of the 70s and 80s - they still almost invariably look good! Even the ones where the metal shows through a bit look classy, compared to scuffed and chipped plastic!

A camera in mint condition is a sad camera, as it has not been used enough...lol
