Being a new comer in the digital photography after buying a pentax K20d body I am now without lens I do not want to use the kit lens, while the DA 16-45 extend the other way I want to spend my hard earned money on the best zoom lens in my humble opinion -the pentax 16-50 mm F 2.8.
I have seen some nice impressive shots at pentax photo gallery from this superb lens.

Now a lens has come up on Ebay Uk which I would like to get.
Is there a easy way to test a lens for its performance like shooting a red brick wall, map, newspaper or one of those test charts available on Net at 45 degree angle

I am interested to know that when you buy a new or used lens what tests you carry out to check its performance for your peace of mind.

Barrie, thanks for that but I am thinking about other lens which seems less used and also has some warranty left so finger crossed placed the bid.

This DA 16-50 mm on ebay seems a good one,less used and comes with receipt/warranty so I am going to place my bid on it,finger crossed

I am new to this forum and to the digital photography.I have brought a K20d from park camera recently.I want to buy just one lens at moment and I like the DA 16-50 mm very much.
My question is that there is a Pentax DA * 16-50 mm up for sale at Ebay UK
at herewhich I am interested in.
Is there any effective and easy way to test a lens for its accuracy sharpness etc.

That is the ex demo lens, and they sell new one at the price of 475 quids.

There is a DA 16-50 mm lens on Ebay uk at this link,not much used according to its detail.

Inspired by all your good conmments about pentax I have treated myself with a pentax K20d from park cameras..
I want to buy a one lens at present how about the DA 16-50 mm what price should I expect to pay for a used copy.
