Focussing and then composing shouldn't throw it out @ f/2.8. I've never had that problem with my 50-135 and I almost always use it at 2.8 being a wide open fan. = have you checked the AF setting for it?

Get yourself a 50/1.2 then you'll see what razor thin DOF is [ It would also well suit your current street portrait style ]

I was lucky to get this couple of candids at a burger stall, manual focussing @ f/1.2

click on them to see at a decent size

Focussing on the eye will lead to miss focus as the front of the eye is clear the camera will actually focus on the rear of the eye ball. Instead focus on the eyebrow, sharp brows always show sharp eyes.

I have always put a small modest copyright on my online……images via Lightroom, my argument has always been, for the image to be used, you have to remove it by cropping....... Therefore the person stealing the image has to acknowledge they are at fault, no excuses.
Good to see the Royal Courts of Justice applying simple common sense.

The Amazon Basics camera bag is awsome for the money. Plus it is less likely to get nicked. There are several in the range.

I am the same - you need to go into the menu, first tab where the icon is a camera (as opposed to a movie camera, spanner or whatever), scroll along to the fourth page, select 'Button Customization', then 'AF Button', and then set it to 'AF2'…

Job done
Thanks
