Interesting that they refer to a timelapse problem also on that thread.
I still believe there is a glitch in the intervalometer code for my K-30. I've tried some timelapse photos with that but they've hung at some stage into the session for no apparent reason. I had hoped for a firmware update for it but it didn't come, so interesting to see some others having issues on a much newer Pentax model.

Its happened once with me, mirror just kept flapping up and down, had to take the battery out to stop it. This would have been in continuous shooting mode as well.
Has worked fine since, one to keep an eye on.

Happened to me once in Iceland. I wasn't sure if it was the cold.
Nothing since though so doesn't seem to be a recurring problem with mine.

You will only prise my 43Ltd from my cold, dead hands...

I had the machine gun shutter problem happen to me twice whilst covering a rugby match last weekend. I had to take the battery out both times to cure it.
It had happened once before this, I'll have to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't become more regular.

Still not had this issue, YET,
May I ask those who have had this happen to them, did you have a battery grip fitted? As I have read somewhere this may cause it to happen more often or trigger it to happen also someone mentioned using third party batteries.
Only asking as thinking of buying the BG-5 in the next week or so.

Good news, of sorts, thanks for that.

No grip fitted, and had the supplied Pentax battery in.
