I'd be interested in the Pentax-A 50mm lens. If it hasn't already gone would you sell it separately?

Just to let you know Brian that the camera arrived safe and sound and ready to go into action. Beautifully packed! Many thanks.

I think it was the ergonomics that helped me make that very first purchase round about 1975. They have always felt so "right" in my, not so large, hands. Back in the 70s Pentax was the innovator and "the" name to have in your camera bag, not that I feel any differently these days.

Thanks for your response Gwyn. I couldn't find the leveller on the camera but perhaps I was looking in the wrong places. Even the one staff member that I spoke to didn't acknowledge its presence when I mentioned it to him, although he was rather reluctant to speak to me in English - every time I asked a question in English he replied in German. My knowledge of German is not much better than my Swahili! I confirm that the leveller is mentioned on the .nl site but I couldn't find it on the .com pages. Anyway, good to hear that it is there.
I returned to the Pentax stand during the afternoon but it only confirmed my feelings about it being stuffed into a corner. Did you see the Hoya stand? I have a toilet in my house which is bigger!
If my daughter pesters hard enough to get my K20D handed down I could perhaps be pressured into a K-5!

I paid my first ever visit to Photokina yesterday and, like Gwyn, made a bee-line for the Pentax stand. Disappointed? You bet! I was left with the impression that Pentax had been allowed to take up residence in the last remaining corner. However, I noticed that the hospitality suite was far larger than the display area! Certainly it was busy at the stand but that was probably exaggerated by the limited amount of space available. I got the chance to play with a K-5 for about 15 minutes but have to say that, once again, I was disappointed. There are certainly innovations that make the camera very attractive but the one thing I demand from my next camera is a moveable LCD screen and the K-5 doesn't have it. Judging by the number of sloping horizon photos submitted to the PU gallery a spirit level within the viewfinder would be a most useful addition. Not there! The camera did not fit as comfortably into my hands as my K20D does but I guess that is a personal thing.
All in all, a great day out, but I think I'll have to wait for the K-8!

Thanks for your help gentlemen. It's going to be a long haul then as I am more interested in posting to the gallery than to the forum. Perhaps that should count too?
Thanks again.

How does one get promoted beyond "New Member"? Despite having 40 photos in my portfolio I never seem to progress above the first rung of the ladder.

From an aviation enthusiast's point of view none of these photos really cuts it, although "Landed" comes close. Take a look at some of the Tiger Moths at www.airliners.net for a few ideas.
As a picture "On The Way Home" is quite effective, but would it look as good without the vignette?
"spelling mistake in the tittle" Must admit I had a little tittle at that one!!

Perhaps time to join us in the "Gallery" Andrew?
