Welcome Mike, I'll be interested to see your Pentax astro shots. I have a CEM40 mount but don't post astropics here as my camera is a ZWO Astro cam. My pentaxes are just for terrestrial work. Of course being in NZ you'll get a whole host of astro objects in the southern sky that I just can't see from the UK.

Clear skies.

Paul.

I have a whole load of "Outdoor Photography" magazines, starting at the first ever edition and running to No 122. They're in the pukka binders - 9 of them. I enjoyed them at the time, and there are loads of good articles. However I do need to clear some space, so rather than just throwing them out, I thought I'd offer them to my fellow Pentaxians.
I'm in Manchester and they'd be expensive to post, so personal collection would be ideal.
Free to a good home. PM me if interested.

I’ve got a nice Pentax 24-90 F3.5-4.5 that just isn’t getting used since I got the K3ii and the 16-85.
I’m not going to go full frame, so it might as well go to someone that will give it some use.

In original box, with correct hood, pentax front and rear caps. Always used with protective filter while I’ve had it.
Some internal dust - doesn’t affect image quality at all. Good condition, iris clean and snappy, focus and zoom rings, autofocus all work fine.

If interested or if you have any questions please PM me.

UK Only, bank transfer, or cash on collection. Inspection welcome

Having a clearout of stuff I never use, should go to someone who’ll actually make use of it. All lenses glass is clear, no more than expected amount of dust for their age, focus is smooth, & diaphragms OK.

PM me if interested in any of the above.

They’re all small items - I’ll post them Royal Mail signed for 2nd class which is £4 within UK.
Or happy to meet anywhere around Greater Manchester & save postage.

Cheers

I shot the lights with a K5, and a Sigma 15mm f2.8. That combination was fine. Personally I'd take your 28 f2.8.
My shutter speeds were between 5-10secs depending on how bright the lights were. ASA800 to 1600.

One tip is to make sure you take off any filters, as they give strange banding with aurora.

Also if it get very cold (I was in N Sweden and temps got down to -30c), take your memory card and battery out, then put the camera and lens in a ziplock bag and seal it up before you go into the warm. Otherwise your camera and lens will get covered in condensation.

Good luck!

Hi Andrew
Got a K5 I keep meaning to advertise, if you're still looking. Shutter Count 24500. Good condition (can provide photos). Firmware v1.15. With original box, strap, viewfinder blind. USB Lead, Manual, Battery charger. Pentax battery & LowePro Mini TLZ Case. Replaced by K3ii so not getting any use, needs to go to a good home. £125. I'm in Manchester so happy to meet part way if you want to look in person before buying.
I have a couple of lens options if of interest.
PM me if this is of interest.

Fantastic work, done some night time timelapse (nothing this good) so I know how much work this must have been...
